The Union County Local Emergency Planning Committee is a federally mandated committee with membership from business and industry, emergency response groups, media, hospitals, environmental interest groups, college and universities and the general public. The primary responsibility of the LEPC is to obtain information about hazardous substances from local industrial users and collaborate with facilities to develop comprehensive site emergency plans. In accordance with SARA Title III Community Right-to-Know Law, the Union County Local Emergency Planning Committee will make available for public review, chemical emergency response plans and information about facilities in Union County.
