Our residential waste and recycling centers are open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays ONLY, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

The Union County Landfill accepts all of the same materials and is open six days a week. Please visit the landfill page for more information.  

All Union County waste & recycling sites are closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Please check the county's homepage for holiday closures and announcements.   

Items accepted at Residential Waste & Recycling Centers:

• Bagged household garbage
• Household recycling
  • Paper and cardboard: Large loads of cardboard can only be accepted at our landfill (2125 Austin Chaney Rd.), Monday-Friday during business hours – 7 am to 4 pm.
  • Plastics, metal and cartons
  • Glass recycling
• Used motor oil (Residents only; 5 gallon limit)
• Used oil filters
• E-waste (Electronics) – accepted at all sites EXCEPT White Store

Only cash in exact change or check will be accepted in drop boxes at each location. No credit cards are accepted at our residential waste and recycling centers. 

Household Recycling

Free at all locations!
With one exception: $10 recycling fee per television 

Bagged Household Garbage

Aside from our Trash Pass program, the following fees apply to household garbage:  

• Small garbage bag (up to 13 gallons): $1.00/bag
• Large garbage bag (14-33 gallons): $2.00/bag
• Extra-large bag (34–maximum of 55 gallons): $5.00/bag
