New Streetlights to Enhance Safety and Visibility

New streetlights are in the works for certain intersections in Union County. Through a new pilot program, a select number of intersections were chosen to receive the new streetlights, which are intended to help improve nighttime visibility and safety. 

Streetlight installation is planned for the following intersections:

  • Doster and N.C. 200
  • Lawyers and Rock Hill Church roads
  • Plyler Mill and W. Sandy Ridge roads
  • Kings Pointe Dr. and N.C. 200
  • Waxhaw-Indian Trail and Shannon roads
  • New Salem and New Hope Church roads
  • N.C. 84 and Johns Forest Lane
  • U.S. 601 and Landsford Rd.
  • Rocky River and Poplin roads
  • Waxhaw-Indian Trail and Beulah Church roads
  • New Town and Ennis/Broomes Old Mill roads
  • NC 200 and Rocky River Rd./Parkwood Rd. 
  • NC 218 and Russell Rd.

  • Monroe-Ansonville Rd. and Bob White Circle
  • N.C. 218 and New Salem Rd.
  • N.C. 200 and McWhorter Rd. 
  • N.C. 200 and S. Providence Rd.
  • N.C. 75 and Rocky River Rd.

Streetlight installation is expected to take place as projects are approved, pending review by NCDOT. There are no anticipated road closures related to this work.
