Now Accepting Applications: Oct. 7 - Nov. 22, 2024

It is time to start thinking about Christmas! The Union County Christmas Bureau is now accepting applications from individuals and families seeking assistance this upcoming holiday season.

The Union County Christmas Bureau is donor-funded and volunteer-driven. It provides holiday gifts and food to families who need a helping hand. Our dedicated community is what makes our endeavors possible. 

The program is always in need of support through volunteering, donating gifts, or sponsoring a child or family.

Apply for Assistance

To be eligible for assistance, you must be a resident of Union County, NC, there must be children in the household, age 18 and younger, at the time of application, or a disabled or senior adult receiving income through Social Security or Medicaid.

The application process for the 2024 holiday season starts Monday, Oct. 7 and ends Friday, Nov. 22.

Have this information handy before calling:
  • Last four digits of social security numbers for all individuals in the household who have them.
  • Monthly gross income for all household members, including salaries, benefits, and child support, etc.
  • Date of birth, clothing sizes, and gift ideas for children aged 18 and younger.


Ways You Can Help

Become one of the hundreds of individuals, groups and families that come together from October through December to help local families in need during the Christmas season.

There are many opportunities between Nov. 13 - Dec. 19 at our Christmas Bureau location, 2805 Walkup Avenue, Monroe.

We will need assistance with the following:

Toy Sorting and Matching

Sort toy donations and pull gifts for children using a wish list.

Food Box Sorting 

Sort food donations for families.

Distribution Days

We will need many hands to help distribute the gifts and food boxes to our families in December.

Operation Cleanup and Pack-up

Inventory, pack-up and cleanup.

2023 Christmas Bureau Efforts

In 2023, the Christmas Bureau served 1,533 families, worked with 545 volunteers, numerous businesses, and churches to distribute more than 20,000 gifts to make Christmas special for Union County children and seniors in need.

We are so thankful for your support in ensuring a memorable holiday for those in need in our community.
