We are excited to share that Union County’s WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) program has been featured in the latest North Carolina Public Health Association (NCPHA) newsletter mini-series, spotlighting exceptional local health initiatives. This recognition,
which can be viewed here, highlights our program's innovative approaches and dedication to improving community health and accessibility.
Our WIC program has implemented the Teletask system to remind clients of upcoming appointments and follow up with personal calls, while our dedicated administrative staff ensure timely responses to voicemails and missed appointment notifications.
"With a robust caseload of more than 4,200 clients, we strive to maintain quality service and offer flexible work options to our team to manage high demand efficiently, said Emily Colson, Program Manager for WIC and Senior Nutrition.
Union County’s WIC program provides essential nutritional support and education to pregnant women, new mothers, and young children up to age five.
