Provide Feedback to the Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program

Post Date:02/15/2021

Union County is conducting a study of citizens and local organizations and agencies to identify community needs and priorities for the expenditure of federal funds from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Union County receives an annual allocation of approximately $800,000, from the Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program. The survey results will be one tool used to develop Union County’s Five-Year Consolidated plan for the period FY 22-26. The Consolidated Plan is a strategic document that prioritizes the expenditure of CDBG funds. Union County will use these funds to carry out programs to assist low- and moderate-income persons and to aid in the prevention or elimination of slums and blight.

Please help us by rating the need level for each of the eligible priority categories; keeping in mind that there are not enough dollars to do everything. Where would you want to see Union County spend these limited dollars? What areas would provide the most benefit for your community?

This survey will be open for all Union County residents through March 31, 2021.

If you have questions about the CDBG Program or the survey, please contact the CDBG Program Administrators: Victoria Avramovic or Savannah Cooper. Residents with limited English proficiency may submit requests for accommodations to Patrick Niland, Ninth Floor, Union County Government Center, 500 North Main Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
