Union County residents are invited to dispose of hazardous household materials at this FREE event. Help protect yourself and loved ones from exposure to hazardous materials, and protect the general public and the environment by disposing of these materials safely and responsibly.
All materials must be in their original labeled containers. Here's what you can bring for free disposal:
- paints
- pesticides
- herbicides
- household cleaners
- oil
- gasoline
(up to 5 gallons each of any of the above materials)
- full or partially full cans of spray paint (up to 10 cans)
(Note: empty cans of spray paint can be disposed of with your normal household trash)
- up to 3 propane or helium tanks (grill size only)
- up to five boxes of documents for shredding
- expired or unneeded medications (over-the-counter, prescription, or unknown) for safe disposal through Operation Medicine Drop, a service of the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
NOT ACCEPTED: business waste (household waste only), electronics, ammunition, gun powder, explosives, radioactive materials, bio-medical waste

When you arrive at the event, drive through the parking lot as directed. Our staff will assist you with removing materials from your vehicle.
