Cane Creek Park is a family-oriented, water-based recreation space that encompasses 1,050 acres of land surrounding a 350-acre lake. The park provides a natural and scenic environment for a variety of outdoor activities and peaceful relaxation year-round. The lake is home to some of the best largemouth bass fishing in the state as well as bluegill, crappie and catfish.

Visitors can enjoy the following activities year round: fishing, boating, hiking, picnic areas, canoe, kayak and jon boat rentals, ball fields, playgrounds, disc golf, and our multi-use mountain bike and horse trails. Fishing licenses can be purchased on-site.

For trail conditions and activity updates, please visit our Cane Creek Park Facebook page. Park Rangers may close trails to mountain bikes and horse riders during wet weather to preserve the terrain (hiking is still permitted).

During Cane Creek Park’s summer season (Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day weekend) activities such as swimming, pedal boats, and miniature golf will be open from 11:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Weekday hours for beach access, pedal boats, and miniature golf only apply when Union County Public Schools recess for summer. These days and hours may vary throughout the season as lifeguard availability changes.

Shelters and picnic pads are available for rent for family reunions, birthday parties, corporate events, etc. See the fee schedule for options and pricing. If not reserved, these can be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Family Camping Area

The family camping area contains 108 six-person campsites with easy access to Cane Creek Lake. All campsites have a fireplace/grill combo and picnic table. All sites also have water, electricity and a limited number have sewer hookups. Nearby, campers have access to bathroom and shower facilities and a small store that is stocked with basic necessities.

Wilderness Camping Area

This area is restricted to tents only and offers no water or electricity. Campers must park in the designated parking area and walk in a short distance to a campsite. Wilderness campsites can accommodate a maximum of six people with two tents. A bathhouse is within walking distance. The park has nine wilderness sites and they are available by reservation or on a first-come first-serve basis.

Group Camping Areas

The park offers small group sites (20 people/4 tent max) and large group sites (30 people/6 tent max). Group sites do not have water or electricity on-site. A bathhouse is located within walking distance. Three water spigots are available in the area.  

Rustic Cabins

Our cabins can accommodate up to six people and come equipped with electricity, two sets of bunk beds, one double bed, a dorm-size refrigerator, a heating and cooling unit, an outdoor fire pit/grill and an outdoor picnic table with a bathhouse located within walking distance. Guests must provide their own linens. Smoking and cooking are prohibited inside the cabin. Pets are not allowed.
