Union County Solid Waste provides environmentally-sound and cost-effective solid waste disposal and recycling services for residents of Union County. These services are funded by a combination of fees and tax dollars. Most fees are paid for by private companies who use the County’s waste services and facilities.

County residents can dispose of bagged household garbage and unbagged recyclable materials the Union County Landfill or at five residential waste and recycling centers throughout the County. Visit the landfill page or the residential centers' page to view the hours of operation for our sites before bringing items for disposal. Call 704-296-4260 with any questions.

The "Trash Pass" program allows county residents to dispose of a limited amount of household waste for free; fees apply to excess garbage for county residents and to all garbage for customers who live outside of the county. There is no cost to drop off accepted recyclable materials, other than televisions.
